THE RETURN OF THE SEASIDE
When we are not allowed to gather indoors, nature has become our closest friend. It is outdoors that we cautiously dare to live and make room for all the needs that we previously took for granted. We take the children to the forest or our friends to the park. Exercise, food and socializing have become synonymous with fresh air. A little tentatively, we dare to live again after a long time of uncertainty. So what about summer and vacation?

Find your sunsetAlmost exactly a year ago, I was sitting in a small bungalow at the Funky Monkey Lodge in Santa Teresa, my computer in front of me. I had a few tasks to do before I could go down to the beach to watch the sunset with the locals and visiting tourists. Here on the long sandy beach, people gathered every evening to watch the sky change colors until the burning orb of the sun was slowly extinguished in the slow waves. A magical spectacle, I must say.

The feeling of AdventAdvent. Waiting. Hope. Longing. Few words fill me with as much peace, joy and anticipation as Advent. I love this time. Burning candles, the warmth of a fire. The scent of fir, pine, saffron and mulled wine. Christmas music. Christmas fun with the children. The beauty of every dark corner now being allowed to bathe in light and hope.

SWITCH HELLO!Hello? Hello…? Did it suddenly stop ringing? Now it became kind of empty again, a familiar feeling at this point. Is it just us who are thinking – déjà vu? It can actually feel quite disconsolate. We who had just got our heads above water. Right then, we should turn to the people around us who just refuse to let bad conditions drag them down. Who say things like – I understand that it’s tough now, but we’ll get through it. Who choose to laugh at things that cannot be influenced. We have such a person here at Vår Gård. His name is Tony. Tony is the one who thoughtfully reminds us that: we have the privilege of having a safe workplace where we can all work together. We can even invite you to visit because we have spaces beyond the ordinary, conditions beyond the ordinary and security beyond the ordinary. Today is the time to hold on to your Tony. Is there anyone at your workplace who has that ability? Give your Tony some love!

Welcome to a new season and futureNow is the time. Now we are opening up after the summer break and looking forward to an exciting and new season. The tough and uncertain spring brought with it many challenges, but also many opportunities. A major adjustment was made in strong headwinds and if it weren't for our wonderful guests and tirelessly determined employees, we might not have been able to make it. And we are moving forward despite whirlwinds and flying wood.

We have lived and are living in a time of great social restrictions, uncertainty and fear for the future. For us at Vår Gård it has meant a completely new reality with empty premises and missed meetings. From one day to the next, we were challenged to completely change our ways just to be able to stay open. It wouldn't have been possible without you.

Spring 2020 was like no other. A few days in March shook us all. For those of us who are experts in physical conferences, it became clear that the need to conference did not decrease through the Corona crisis – the problem was that we were no longer allowed to meet. We needed to quickly adjust to be able to offer alternatives to the physical meeting.
