Vår Gård highlights its rich art history heritage, which has been a significant part of the experience and the place for over 100 years. Through exhibitions and vernissages, we get to see both contemporary artists and selected works from Vår Gård's magnificent art treasure. The exhibitions are held in the historic turn-of-the-century villa Skärtofta and in the modern Vincaféet. Each exhibition series begins with an open vernissage and an "Artist Talk" with the artist or representative. All works presented are also available for purchase. April 27 – September 27 – Hertha Hillfon
In this summer's exhibition in Villa Skärtofta the audience will encounter one of Sweden's most distinctive artworks. Hertha Hillfon's sculptures and portraits take place in the villa's eclectic environment from the late 19th century and create a new dialogue between art and space. Here, other sides of Hillfon's art emerge – a strong closeness to the body, the material and the hand that shaped the works. Clay, charcoal, glaze and gold bear traces of her intense relationship with both people and materials. The exhibition spreads through several rooms of the villa and allows different moods in Hillfon's design language to meet – from personal portraits to powerful sculptural expressions.

In the first exhibition of the year in Villa SkärtoftaSaltsjöbadenSaltsjöbaden SaltsjöbadenSaltsjöbadenSaltsjöbadenSaltsjöbaden SaltsjöbadenSaltsjöbaden's important modernist Isaac Grünewald. The exhibition explores the dialogue between their expressions – where Eismann's mirror-based installations and light reflections meet Grünewald's colorful tempo and design language.
By bringing together works from Vår Gård's collection with innovative contemporary art, a room is created where tradition and the present are intertwined. Here, the viewer themselves can become part of the work, in the meeting between movement, color and form.

Symbolically, Höste's artistry stands for a longing to emerge from the enclosed cube. This year, 50 years later, the contemporary shooting star Miriam Johannesson is spinning further on Höste's visions through a completely new group of pearlescent metal sculptures, specifically created for the site and the 100th anniversary.

August 23, 2025 - January 8, 2026 - Anna Charlotte Rosenberg Bosten & Inger Sarin
An exhibition where contemporary fiber art meets historical textiles in a quiet conversation about patience, time and the rhythm of nature. The works are woven together around the theme of The Four Elements and invite contemplation, presence and reflection. Through traceable materials, plant dyeing and embroidery, a dialogue is created between the past and the present – where slow craftsmanship takes its place in a world that moves ever faster.
Rosenberg Bosten is a textile artist and designer with international exhibitions behind her. She works with the rhythms of nature, plant dyes and traceable materials. Inger Sarin (1931–2024) renewed textile expression with strong feeling and a desire to experiment – and her embroideries vibrate with life, symbolism and tactile power.

October 4, 2025 - January 16 - Peace Parks 2026
Through painting and photography, the artists Karin Holmström and Jytte Fredholm Ferreira take us to Botswana, where the encounter with the wild becomes art. They set out together in the African wilderness, for several weeks in a tent, without knowing each other before and completely without connection to the outside world. There they encountered nature at really close range - but also themselves. They came home with strong, almost spiritual experiences, which have grown into a unique art project.
The project was initiated by the Peace Parks Foundation, a non-profit organization that works across borders in southern Africa to protect animals and nature, train park rangers and strengthen local communities through ecotourism and sustainable development. Wild in Africa was shown in Hagaparken and the Butterfly House in the summer of 2025 and has now landed in Saltsjöbaden's own living room through a collaboration with Vår Gård. 20% of the profit from each work sold goes directly to the Peace Parks Foundation's important work.

Through images from three places that mean a lot to him – Northern Norway, Saltsjöbaden and Vilnius – Steinsvik weaves together the local and the global, the small-scale and the monumental.
