NO WASTE,
JUST TASTE

Hello! My name is Karin and I work as a chef at Vår Gård , but in the kitchen I am better known as Kakan. I am passionate about sustainable cooking just like my colleagues. The interest in reducing food waste became both a successful dinner event and a book that leaves nothing on the plate - No Waste, Just Taste simply.

I have always advocated taking advantage of the food we eat, that is, all food, even scraps and bits. Last year I wanted to take that step further, and show how good it can be with leftover food if you have a little imagination. So me and my colleague who is also called Karin started the tasting menu No Waste - Just Taste here at Vår Gård . It was a success!

What we heard from everyone was just how luxurious it tasted, and with something as simple as edging raspberries and sad tomatoes. I have always been involved in the environment and nature, ever since I was little and over the years have gained more focus on taking advantage of what nature gives me. Having the chance to share my knowledge and passion with others has been very rewarding. So rewarding that it became a book too.

This with throwing food and having to get a stop. And we can all help, because basically it starts with each of us. In my book, I have collected my best tips and tricks for some good and simple recipes. Now No Waste - Just Taste is here. So the book.
