THE RETURN OF THE SEASIDE

When we are not allowed to gather indoors, nature has become our closest friend. It is outdoors that we cautiously dare to live and make room for all the needs that we previously took for granted. We take the children to the forest or our friends to the park. Exercise, food and socializing have become synonymous with fresh air. A little tentatively, we dare to live again after a long time of uncertainty. So what about summer and vacation?

We would like to take the opportunity to liven things up with some tips for the holidays due to the restrictions that have now become everyday life in Sweden. A positive reminder is that in Stockholm we don't have to travel far to experience nature, the sea and the relaxation we associate our holidays with. We all have access to beautiful surroundings and incredible opportunities for swimming in all its forms. At Vår Gård we invite you to experience Saltsjöbaden, a little further east with its lush surroundings and inviting bathing coves. Here the coast is lined with both cliffs and soft sandy beaches that are just waiting for happy summer guests.

Unlike a hundred years ago when Saltsjöbaden was an exclusive seaside resort for the most affluent – today everyone is welcome. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since Saltsjöbaden was founded and we have been an oasis for holidays at home since the beginning. We proudly claim that we in Saltsjöbaden know how to swim. After all, we have over a century under our belt. So here is a selection of cooling bathing spots for sunny weekends and lazy holiday days.

Saltsjöbaden's Outdoor Swimming Pool

If you want to experience Saltsjöbaden 's most historic swimming pool, you can easily get to Saltsjöbaden 's Friluftsbad , just a stone's throw from the Saltsjöbanan train station. The open-air swimming pool is divided into two parts, the ladies' swimming pool and the men's swimming pool with a shared beach. This is where the vision of a seaside resort in the late 19th century was founded and is recommended for anyone who wants to swim comfortably with a toilet, sauna and restaurant on site. This is what it could have looked like a hundred years ago, fast forward to 9.09 minutes if you're impatient. Watch the film
