THE
RESORT
When we are not allowed to gather indoors, nature has become our closest friend. It is outdoors that we carefully dare to live and make room for all the needs we have previously taken for granted. We take the children to the forest or the friends to the park. Exercise, food and socializing have become synonymous with fresh air. A little tentative, we dare to live again after a long period of uncertainty. So what about the summer and the holidays?
We want to take the opportunity to liven things up with some tips for the holidays due to the restrictions that have now become commonplace in Sweden. A positive reminder is that in Stockholm we don't have to travel far to experience nature, the sea and the relaxation we associate our holidays with. We all have access to a beautiful environment and incredible opportunities for bathing in all its forms. At Vår Gård we invite you to experience Saltsjöbaden, a little bit to the east with its green surroundings and inviting bathing coves. Here, the coast is lined with both cliffs and soft sandy beaches that are just waiting for happy summer guests.
Unlike a hundred years ago, when Saltsjöbaden was an exclusive seaside resort for the most affluent - today everyone is welcome. A lot of water has flown under the bridges since Saltsjöbaden was created and we have been an oasis for holidays at home since the beginning. We proudly claim that in Saltsjöbaden we can do this with baths. After all, we have over a century behind us. Here is a selection of cooling bathing spots for sunny weekends and lazy vacation days.
Saltsjöbaden's outdoor swimming pool
If you want to experience Saltsjöbaden 's most historic baths, you can easily get to Saltsjöbaden 's Friluftsbad , just a stone's throw from the Saltsjöbanan train station. The cold pool is divided into two parts, the women's bathhouse and the men's bathhouse with a shared beach. This is where the vision of a seaside resort at the end of the 19th century was founded and is recommended to those who want to bathe comfortably with a toilet, sauna and restaurant on site. This is what it might have looked like a hundred years ago, fast forward to 9.09 minutes if you're impatient. Watch movie
