WHAT IS SILENT DISCO?
Silent Disco is a modern dance event that streams music through high-quality wireless LED headphones instead of through large speaker systems. There are three different music channels to choose from via a button on the side. Each music style is linked to a color so you can easily recognize who is on the same dance floor as you.
OCCURENCE
Silent Disco originated as a concept in the 90s where activists used headphones at outdoor parties and events to reduce disturbing noise for animals and nature. Today, Silent Disco is a big hit around the world, mainly in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin and London. Most recently at Vår Gård .
THE EXPERIENCE
Dancing with music through headphones gives a more personal feeling that the music is played just for you. Like having your own private DJ. Depending on the choice of music channel, different colors are displayed and if you see someone dancing to a different color, you can easily switch to their channel and dance to the same beat. Often the channel is changed to the one who is having the most fun on the dance floor and dance groups are formed that match the same color. This is pure dance joy where everyone dances at their own pace and style without criticizing each other.
Unlike a nightclub, you can take off your headphones at any time for a chat in total silence. Watching your dancing colleagues outside the headphones is also a very entertaining part of the experience.
