In the spring of 2019, Vår Gård introduced the dinner concept "No Waste, Just Taste" - a unique tasting menu based on leftover ingredients. The evening was a celebration of creative cooking and a reminder of the importance of reducing food waste.
In the spring of 2019, Vår Gård introduced the dinner concept "No Waste, Just Taste" - a unique tasting menu based on leftover ingredients. The evening was a celebration of creative cooking and a reminder of the importance of reducing food waste.
An evening dedicated to sustainability
Guests were treated to a surprising taste experience where the chefs showed off their inventiveness and passion for sustainable cooking. The dinner was created using only leftover seasonal ingredients that were available that day. Since planning and purchasing were not possible, the menu was not announced until the table. It takes unique cooking skills to "cook soup on a nail".
The evening began with a welcome drink in the beautiful turn-of-the-century villa Skärtofta. Guests were then invited to the table and enjoyed a range of creative and tasty dishes. The chefs came out during the dinner and talked about the menu and shared tips and tricks about sustainable cooking.
"No Waste, Just Taste" was a success and showed that it is possible to cook both delicious and beautiful food without wasting resources. The evening inspired new thoughts about cooking and consumption and helped to focus on the problem of food waste.
